Maybe the very last hand of the day, they both called an all-in from someone which they had covered by $10. They lose the pot and day 4 is over.

A chip and a chair is all you need. These guys look poised to win it all.

Player I'm most happy to see in the bottom 3rd of chips: Humberto (pleasegoawayandtakethesharkwithyoukthx)
Most common last name left: Tran (5 players)
Most famous non-pro left: Toby "I will be known as Spiderman the rest of my life" Maquire
Most like to either fire up or burn out this round: Gus Hansen
Most likely to trigger repressed "feelings" (and is already making 2+2ers question their sexual identity): Dario Minieri

Old School Table:

65 1 Theodore Park 408,000
65 2 Steven D'Argenio 111,000
65 3 Berry Johnston 203,000 (5 bracelets, 3 ME final tables, 1 world championship)
65 4 Richard Sun 83,000
65 5 Fernando Reyes 358,000
65 6 Hans "Tuna" Lund 68,000 (2 bracelets, 2 ME final tables)
65 7 Randal McLoughlin 405,000
65 8 Bill Baxter 105,000 (7 bracelets)
65 9 Bart Hanson 738,000

Berry Johnston was the third player at this table to win a WSOP bracelet and he won his first in 1983. It would be sweet if this was the feature table but I am sure it won't be.

Tables I could see possibly being ESPN's featured table today:

29 2 Peter Feldman 284,000
29 3 Carlos Mortensen 284,000
29 4 Dave Terry 133,000
29 5 Jim Kasputis 560,000
29 6 Ryan McClean 97,000
29 7 David Wells 388,000
29 8 Darrel Dicken 215,000
29 9 Jeff Bryan 156,000

Former world champ, two other semi-names who have had at least some TV time before. Probably not though, as Carlos already was on a featured table with Gus and Gavin Smith.

35 1 Jim Geary 131,000
35 2 Sorel Mizzi 603,000
35 3 Rchard Klein 104,000
35 4 Justin King 714,000
35 5 Zachary Clark 599,000
35 6 Markus Gongalves 373,000
35 7 David O'Neal 321,000
35 8 Salvatore Erna 135,000

Godsmack lead singer and Sorel Mizzi is quickly gaining attention. Very low chance since Erna is so short stacked though.

44 1 Christoph Stiehler 108,000
44 2 Jeff Diambrosia Allen 93,000
44 3 Humberto Brenes 210,000
44 4 Tim Begley 441,000
44 5 Jason Koshi 346,000
44 6 Justin Sadauskas 618,000
44 7 Sean Walter 133,000
44 8 Alan Keating 566,000
44 9 William Spadea 1,057,000

I don't think Humberto has been on the feature table yet? They love covering him and with him below average chip wise they might want to "get him in" now...high likelihood.

59 1 Jeff Banghart 789,000
59 2 Marco Mills 294,000
59 3 Matt Cohen 374,000
59 4 Daniel Alaei 299,000
59 5 Daniel Melan 263,000
59 6 Bryan Swanson 216,000
59 7 Paul Spitzberg 629,000
59 8 Esfandiar Dara 520,000
59 9 Scotty Nguyen 321,000

Former world champ, semi-name in Alaei, Banghart is getting some attention too. Slight possibility, though Nguyen was already at the feature table on day 2 I believe.

62 1 Philip Yeh 224,000
62 2 Sebastian Zink 397,000
62 3 Brett W. Kimes 591,000
62 4 Jim McCrink 265,000
62 5 Reagan Silber 514,000
62 6 Bill Edler 673,000
62 7 Robert Varkonyi 424,000
62 8 Hyon Kim 145,000
62 9 Jared Hamby 379,000

Former world champ, bracelet winner in Edler, young star in Hamby...slight possibility but low as Varkonyi isn't really a draw compared to Humberto, in ESPN's eyes.

78 1 David Tran 434,000
78 2 John Spaavecchia 402,000
78 3 Julian Gardner 471,000
78 4 Philip Hilm 597,000
78 5 Alan Levin 316,000
78 6 Al Riccobono 204,000
78 7 Dario Minieri 2,398,000
78 8 Deb Blair 371,000
78 9 Mitch Garshofsky 158,000

Monster chip leader's table can be fun to follow, slight possibility.

Semi-OT question: Does the ME FT really start at 3 EST on Tues.? Or is that just a ballpark figure? Seems lame to start the PPV so early in the day.

[/ QUOTE ]

Every day of the tournament starts at noon Vegas time, so 3pm EST. The final table can take a lonnnnnng time (it went well into the next day last year, ended sometime after sunrise in the EST time zone) so if they started later it could literally go far into the next morning.

So yes, 3PM.

peterpjames

With his dislike of any media coverage and no other big names at the table I thought probably not...but yeah, very slight possibility. I think they want a more engaging personality though, and will do frequent "away from the main table" updates about the "celebrities" still in.

Of the chips left in play:

Light Orange 25K
Orange 5K
Yellow 1K

I think that's all that's left as the 500s just came off the table. Yes, the orange and light orange coloring is retarded. It's hard to see the difference.

The yellow chips are 1K chips, and the Orange are 5K chips. Today there will be the introduction of the 25K chips so they will be a different color (i hope) than last year b/c last year they were tangerine-ish.

This is an OK series of books, this one (really, two books, see later) is not very good. Two huge problems - first, it would have been nice if the author had consulted with someone, anyone, who had played even one hand of hold'em. Second, this is one story broken into two books and you don't find this out until you get near the end of book one and start wondering how he's going to tie everything together in 30 pages. Oops . . . to be continued. There's no indication at all on the first book that this is only half of a story. Kind of fun in parts but not very good, overall.

Olsen moved in from late position with {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and Benjamin called in the small blind with pocket Sevens. The {8-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} flop didn't help Olsen much but the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn opened up flush and straight possibilities. OK, I should have been more clear.

Last year was notorious for how quickly people were knocked out of the tourney, even though most of the field had very healthy stacks in terms of BBs, and long after the prize money started to seriously escalate (final 100 or so).

Josh Evans Eliminates Steve Miranda

The very short-stacked Miranda moved all-in with 9-10 and was called by Josh Evans with pocket Jacks. The flop was unnecessarily cruel--J-9-10. The 10 on the turn gave both players a full house but when the case Ten didn't hit on the river Miranda was eliminated.

Well, Steve can take solace in the fact that no matter how many chips he had he was getting stacked on this hand.

Before the flop O'Neal raised to 24,000 and King called in the small blind. They checked the {A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop and the {7-Spades} on the turn, but when the {J-Spades} hit on the river and King again checked, O'Neal moved all-in 260,000.

It was a huge overbet (there was only about 60K in the pot) and King asked, "Why would you bet so much?" O'Neal didn't reply at first, but as King thought over the situation and asked the same question again O'Neal just shrugged. King announced his call and turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}, which beat O'Neal's pocket Queens. He was eliminated and King is now up to 1,080,000.
