View Full Version : NL50: TP2K OOP gets raised on flop

Villain is 24/9/0.65 through 50 hands. More aggressive than his stats would suggest, as I've seen him make a couple of moves. I've been TAG, hardly showing down any hands.

I always hate these spots when I'm raised on flop OOP, and I have a hard time giving min raisers credit.

I think a flop fold is too weak and 3betting turns my hand into a bluff. Is call flop and bet/fold turn standard?

When he just called turn I think I have the best hand most of the time. I put him on a draw or weaker ace, possibly AK or AQ, he folds air or lower PP.

I'm most interested in the river. Check and hope he bluffs a missed draw (or owns me with a set or 2 pair /images/graemlins/frown.gif), or bet and hope he calls with an ace?

you gotta bet more on that blank turn.

I think it depends entirely on villain, against someone i know will fire any A or busted draw here i c/c. Against a player who will call with any A or J i bet out. I think the only real hand to "fear" on this river given the play is exactly AJ which i doubt given merely calling the blank turn.

How much would you bet on the turn here? Had he flat called flop I'd be betting 15 minimum, but given flop raise, I thought a slightly smaller bet lets me get away cheaper when he raises sets/2pair, and he didn't seem the type to raise a draw twice.

I really like how you played it actually.

I like betting 14 on the turn. It's not a huge difference but I agree that your bet looks too small. It could need to be more than 14.

I agree, well played on this hand. I've done this exact play before, but I do it rarely. This situation presents an opportunity to execute this play! As for river, you're set up easy for c/c.

Your turn bet is fine. Don't inflate this pot more than it already is. As played I'm check/calling the river
