I don't think you should ask yourself what to do on the turn, start with the flop.
This is a VERY drawheavy board, even with your set, you got to pot it!
Make a bet of 2.35 on the flop, making the pot 7.05.

If the scary card comes on the turn I still fire at it, but I make it a smallish bet, around 3/5th of the pot (somewhere around $4). If he has the 7 here, he might elect not to reraise you, so you can still draw for a paired board or a split pot maybe.

Lets assume he has a 7, then you have 3 7s for a split and 3x 4, 3x 5, 3x 3, 1x 6 to win it.
So thats 10 cards to win the hand and 3 to split it.

call.

with an AF of 5, he's very often making a play (hanging himself here).

A CR here is no good because you're folding out all hands that beat you and keep all of the hands that have you beat.

Lead again for value/furhter protection/control.

If raised, evaluate expressed and implied pot odds for the board pairing.

And full pot on the flop btw. Absolutely no reason not to. People with draws are still gonna draw, which is obv what you want them to do, but for a bad price.

As played it really sucks cuz you have now failed to keep control of this pot, and villain is now the one who gets to decide which parts of his range he takes a free card with and which ones he bets. This is very unfavorable for you. You also get less information this way.

I guess I call, and put out a blocking/value bet on the river. But I would never have played this way.

Unless the board pairs of course, then we make a bigger value bet.

Pot the flop.

As played on the turn, if you think you are ahead, all-in. If you think he has a 7/2, fold. I would probably go all-in here as you are ahead of his range. You don't want to call for the times he has a flush draw, he'll probably look you up and try to hit.

Yes, I would bet pot on the flop, its a very drawy board.

I would call turn here.

I think c/c is fine here. I probably call a reasonable bet on the river.

With donks like this though they can often have a 7 or 2.
