i make the slightly crying call here and am not surprised to see villain show up with TJ, QT or JQ. but your line was weak thus it seems less likely that villain would bet so much for value. a lot of uNLers love to float flop and bet river if you check turn when they are OOP. I think there are enough 1 pair hands to justify making this call.

Tough spot. This board does seem to hit the range of a somewhat loose, very passive preflop player who called a preflop raise, so I'm not going to be at all surprised if he's got a better two pair. The decision seems close to me, but then at the same turn your turn check doesn't really suggest you're going to call a big river bet. Which is sort of an excuse for doing so.

And, anyway, I'm wondering . . . after you show down your J6s and people get an idea of the hands you're capable of raising (even if they don't understand the role position is playing), do you start getting 3-bet a lot more frequently preflop? It seems like the sort of problem someone who's raising suited junk on the Button would run into eventually.

I don't think you can ever fold this unless you have an amazing read on villain. I see guys bet here with anything from the nuts to complete air.

There's no 3betting whatsoever at these tables. I select 60%+ VPIP tables and usually have no-one under 30%VPIP. Most of them have 0% PFR.

Basically it's a crapshoot where I wait for big hands to value bet them to death. Raising J6s is to keep my raising frequency up so I don't seem as nitty as I am.

What made me decide to fold here was the overbet from this type of player. They usually don't do this without a hand so the only question was if my hand was better than his. They also usually bet small with small hands and big with good ones so I decided to just let this go after having only invested $3-something.

I would have called 3/4 pot sized bet because of my check but usually when they suddenly explode with regard to their bet sizes they like their hand very much.

I think it's a fold. Looks to me that he's a bad player who wanted you to bet the turn, at least to call and perhaps c/r you. AJ spades wouldn't suprise or QTs and maybe QJ to a lesser extent.

25nl on FTP is really this passive? I find it generally fairly aggro on Stars (not overly, but def you can almost never find 60% VPIP tables), and I always thought FTP was even more aggressive. Hmmm....
