2+2er Taylor "tdomeski" Douglas has a goddamm fortress of chips, for your visual assistance, when the day ended for 9 players, there were no 25k chips and Taylor had approximately 2.6 million. Just imagine an octagon of 40-stacks all over. It was frankly the illest chipstack short of Jamie Gold I have ever stood witness to. He's just 21 and I think he's the first 2+2er to make two seperate final tables this WSOP (not sure). Both of which $1500 NL events with billions of entrants, lol. The first of which being the spectacle of Hellmuth's 11th bracelet.

Also Taylor primarily plays HU cash online @ 3/6 and 5/10, so when it gets shorthanded this could be a slaughter.

Anyways, he's a massive chipleader going into the final table, televised tomorrow online on worldseriesofpoker.com

One quick comment that Taylor has probably already thought of and most of the people reading this thread already know but I'll post anyway to make a point. There is likely to be a big difference between being HU/SH at a tournament like this than playing HU/SH in general. The difference is that the people he probably plays on a daily basis are there to play SH so they are probably better/more aggressive. The people at the FT of the donkament will be less comfortable HU and therefore play more poorly but have very different weaknesses for him to exploit than he is used to.

[/rant]

Edit: Good luck / Take it down

Other 2+2ers with 2 final tables this year:

Bart Hanson
Eric "Rizen" Lynch
Greg Raymer
Will Durkee
Travis Rice
Vanessa Selbst (if you count 4th in the headsup as a final table)

Pretty sure Taylor was down below 400 chips during level 1. I doubled him up bvb 97s vs AJ. Very nice comeback from absolute fumes.

I wish all the 2+2ers luck, but I have a friend from a weekly home game at the final table. I bubbled (late, late Saturday night). He obviously is still going strong and took two early pots worth about 400K. Go Chandra!

I've got the broadcast up, (which I wouldn't have paid for if I'd known it wasn't Mac friendly), but I have to leave in about 15 minutes.

Go Taylor! Play that big stack smart!

Lewis Titterton Is Eliminated in 9th Place

Running low on chips, Titterton moved all-in with {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}. Leandro Pimentel moved all-in himself with {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, and when the action was folded around found that he was in the lead.

The {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop gave Pimentel two pair and Titterton a gutshot draw, but the {2-Diamonds} and {K-Hearts} on the turn and river didn't save Titterton and he was eliminated in 9th place, winning 45,162.

That would be me. I busted in 6th place.

Taylor is without a doubt the strongest player left in the tourney, it would be quite surprising if he doesn't take it down.

While watching the FT I was saying to some friends 'he plays very well, it's very likely he's a 2p2er'.

Also I really enjoyed your exit interview.

The event has finished, but I won't spoil it for those watching the broadcast.

3 handed right now on the broadcast with Taylor making desperation shove with QJ against Hunt's AQ. Taylor doubles up through Hunt when he hits a J.

we're all kinda bitter about chandra's horrific T9o shove somehow outrunning AK and dome not running good HU, but besides that we're happy the $700k is going to a nice guy.

(and more to the poster miles ahead) ->

i mean, not coming off as a dick (its really hard not to), but I really hope chandra puts all of that money away towards real-life stuff like his family, his retirement, his coffee shop (if i remember right), because i would hate to see a guy like chandra start thinking he's cool enough to play 50/100 NL when he's clearly just a decently good recreational player. but i have no idea how his brain works, but felt it obligatory to just state that i would hate seeing a nice guy piss away tournament money wins in cashgames or other stupid stuff like blackjack.

anyways gg gl in life etc, grats chandra, and tdome and sub, wheeee.

Chandra's actually a tech guy at a large public biotech firm in the Bay Area, who has owned various businesses (including bars and coffee shops) on the side. Not sure why he went with the coffee shop owner angle, but it was amusing.

Anyway, I don't know if you saw the interview afterward or not, but Chandra is as grounded as anyone you've ever met. As he said, it was a lottery ticket for him. Obviously Taylor and Chandra both ran unbelievably well to get to the final table. I undertand Taylor was under 400 at one point early. As for Chandra, at the four hour break when the blinds were about to go up to 150/300 with 25 antes he only had about 1000 left, and he joked that at least one of us would make the money (meaning me, because I had a pretty healthy stack at that point, having busted two players, won some other big pots and almost quadrupled up). However, I ran into some bad luck, then got moved to a couple of uber-loose/aggressive table with larger stacks (including two of the final table players), went completely card dead and got decimated by the blinds while the big stacks fought it out every single hand. I had to go all in six times over the last two hours before the dinner break just to survive. Meanwhile Chandra (whose M was a little over 1) was moved to a passive table, where he started getting walks in the BB and getting folds all around to his min raises (which was all he could afford with that stack). By the dinner break, I was the one virtually dead in the water, and while his stack was still dangerously low, Chandra felt much better. He just sat back, played his hands and let the chips come to him.

Anyway, my point is he knows he had the run of a lifetime.

Wooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooo!

If I had no means of ever getting my word in to chandra or a friend of his, I would have simply not cared. However I have at least heard of multiple instances of people being retarded when they have a huge score and doing something stupid.

Though I sorta garnered that Chandra was very well grounded from his nature and his mannerisms, but since his friend is posting, I dunno, maybe I just feel somewhat obligated as a decent human being to pass word like, "Hey, listen, congrats on your score, but dont throw your money back into the seedy retarded poker community or do something dumb with baccarat". Kinda dumb on my part, but whatever, I dont have to explain myself to people like lapoker, moreso to Chandra's friend, who shouldnt have had to write back to acknowledge/defend his friend.

anyways wtg chandra! taylor has told me personally when the deals couldnt go through that if he didnt win, he'd want chandra to win. that should speak well for chandra's character, i think.

i have basically backed myself into a no-win situation, all i can say is when i wrote it i wasnt trying to come off as self serving, i've heard countless stories of degen friends blowing tons after having huge scores, and seeing a friend of the winner post i wanted to just be like, hey, dont do stupid crap, cuz you seem like a cool guy and i want ur money to go to ur family and ur business (they said he was a coffeeshop owner), not to live poker pros and casinos.

but i fail at the internet and have apparantly made myself off like a douche again (standard), srryyyy.

Clayton, you obviously knew how you were about to come off, but don't worry about it. If that were the worst thing you ever said you'd be a model citizen in the poker world.

You mentioned the "horrific" 109o shove . . . Meh. I missed some of the hands and that was one of them and so I don't know what the situation was (e.g., stack sizes), but Chandra and the others had to play back at Taylor at some point, and Chandra had spent some time cultivating his I only place Aces image . . . So he picked the wrong spot, and got bailed out by the deck. It happens.

Congrats to everyone who made the table. Taylor, I thought your play was SOLID. Really fun to watch.
