If you go to christian heaven, can you ever be demoted? can you do something bad there and go to hell?
Also, can you have sex in heaven? I imagine if there are no penalties people will be cussing, screwing and getting high a lot.

Please explain to me this is very curious no?

I know for a fact that Islam promisses sex with virgins correct no? Is there a similar prize for jews and catholics? Why is this not a bigger issue among religious people? I've never seen people discuss this, wich is obviously a very important factor in deciding to live religiously or not

It says in the bible that after you get resurrected god will create a new earth and that the afterlife existence will be something incomprehensible to us here on "old earth", so I guess the answer is that the bible is explicit that we cannot know.

AFAIK, the virgins is a misinterpretation, and they are actually promised 70 or so items of food. I forgot which. Maybe dates. Dawkins talks about it in the god delusion. It's actually pretty hilarious to think that a suicide bomber would be expecting to get his [censored] on and end up getting rewarded with a week's supply of fruit.

I think there's clear precedent for it. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

The thing is that many christians use the re-unification with their kins (children, parents, spouse) as one of the thing to look forward to in paradise. The only problem, that I can see, is what happen in the very legitimate case or re-marriage following death of one spouse. I think paradise may very well turn out to be mayhem! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Marriage at the Resurrection

18Then the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to him with a question. 19"Teacher," they said, "Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother. 20Now there were seven brothers. The first one married and died without leaving any children. 21The second one married the widow, but he also died, leaving no child. It was the same with the third. 22In fact, none of the seven left any children. Last of all, the woman died too. 23At the resurrection[c] whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her?"

24Jesus replied, "Are you not in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God? 25When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 26Now about the dead rising—have you not read in the book of Moses, in the account of the bush, how God said to him, 'I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'[d]? 27He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!"

Revelation 21

The New Jerusalem

1Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
5He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

6He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son. 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death."

God punished Lucifer and kicked him and 33% of the angels from Heaven because Lucifer refused to obey and bow down to humans by god's request.

Who says that we will experience the same pleasure by screwing and smoking pot in heaven as we will on earth. Heaven is probably as good as it gets, and an orgasm or a purple haze probably wouldn't be able to increase your happiness anyways because you're already at max happiness /images/graemlins/cool.gif

[/ QUOTE ] So heaven is more like watching some beautiful lesbians going at it while on a permanent crack high, only in heaven the crack is as good for you as vitamin C and there's no vicious downswings. Is this an apt analogy of the pleasure of heaven?

I've looked in revelation but can't find anything so either it was somewhere else in the bible like isaiah or it was the commentators opinion or I misremember what was being talked about.

also

Isaiah 65:17 (King James Version)
17For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

I can't remember the whole argument but there was a bunch of passages and the end result was that we dont/cant know what heaven/newearth/whatever will be like but it will be differfent from our lives now.

I'm curious about the virgins thing(if it wasn't dates instead). Would God create the virgins in heaven, or would they be created from the souls of existing, but dead virgins?

probably god will do something godlike like having them be whores whose pussys magically go back to virgin status after sex.
