Anybody catch this? From pokernews.com:

Prizepool and Payouts
It has just been announced that this event brought a record setting 3,151 entrants resulting in a prize pool of $4,301,115. Those placing in the top 324 will be paid with those coasting into the money earning $2,667 and the champion taking home a whopping $722,914 and the coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Ok I was doin a lil math, and to me it looks as though Harrah's has takin out 9% juice? WTF? That seems a lil excessive IMO.

Additionally, there were less players (2,998) in the inaugural $1,500 event (Event #3) and 1st place in this HUGE field will be receiving a wee bit LESS than event 3? Just what kind of formula are they using?

Also, I think if you survive a field of over 3,000 ppl and happen to end up winning the thing, I think you deserve $1 Million, amirite? Change someone's life Harrah's, stop lining ur pockets! My .02cents.

9% is the standard for the $1,500 events, and it's excessive in everyone's opinion that isn't a Harrah's employee.

I think you should thank Ray for getting you started as I'm sure it was easy to dominate the table after that /images/graemlins/wink.gif

P.S. Why can't I flip as well as you so I can get 10k that early?

taylor completely sh*t on the entire field from 27 on in and won every single preflop confrontation

before the color up he had ten seperate 40-stacks of 5k chips, and an additional eight forty-stacks of 1k yellows. it was A GODDAM FORTRESS.

sweat thread time.
