View Full Version : 50BB effective stacks to small to 3bet light?

so im heading up to seneca niagara for the weekend.

the 1/2nl game is a 100max buy in, which is aweful but oh well. obviously the table makeups always vary but it is not uncommon to have late position goobers open raising with likely weak holdings. and the standard opening raise always seems to vary from 6-12.

given the above, is it even worth it to 3bet light from the blinds? i know there is much more to this then i am talking about, i.e. read on villain, players left to act, loose/tight table etc.

i havent played live in several months. online i have gotten to the point where i will 3bet light from the blinds any time i think the vlaue of the play is positive. but this is almost always with stack of around 100BBs+.

if im at 50bb stacks and a likely light opener makes it 10-12, i cant really make the play (and follow up w 1/2-2/3 cbet on a whiff) and not be playing for stacks.

thoughts?

3betting light from the blinds at 1/2NL live, ESPECIALLY with only 50bb is just not good.
