Villian just sat down

First off all i think i had to bet more on the turn. is the C/C on the river ok? Or is a C/F better? I don't think villian had a set (he would reraise allin on the turn card i that case. So villian was drawing or had some sort of overpair.

Looks like he probably made two pair or is just stone cold bluffing. I think an overpair raises flop, straight raises turn... could be full house here but I doubt it. Nice hand.

Edit: Oh, wow. I didn't notice 4 to a straight on board. Meh.

the thing is if u bet more on the turn i get pot committed. If i bet like 8 or 9 on the turn I only have 11/12 bucks left. in a pot that is 25 bucks. So if he calls the turn bet what is the plan on the river then? I can't see how i could fold a 9 dollar bet in a 25 dollar pot?

i'd fold river. a pair isn't pushing. this either a bluff or the nuts (2nd nuts, etc), and people just aren't bluffing at 25nl a big % of the time. look at the flop, what is he calling with that pushes that river?

Yeah I just got ahead and pot commit myself on the turn. Also note that 77 got there on the river as well.

CO posted a blind and I don't think many really tight players do this, so it may well be that villain is quite a loose player and I would call the river. My reasoning is that even not taking into account that CO posted the blind, there are enough fish at these stakes to make this call a good one against the average player at these stakes. You only need the call to be correct 27.7% of the time to breakeven.

so more people aprove the call the a fold... My opinion is that a fold is better here. I agree with whyherro... But i couldn't control myselft. I think the bet on the turn is ok it's 2/3 of the pot and a flush or straight draw doesn't have enough odds wit hsuch a bet to call it
He is getting 1/2,3 and if u have 8 or 9 outs u need 1 out of 4/5 to make a call provitable

This board is a c/f for me on the river against most opponents.

maybe an odd question but what kind of board isn't a c/f ??

It's hard when guys just call like that and your are OOP. Another reasonable line to take would be to C/C the turn and C/C a reasonable bet on the river. You would have to fold to a large bet on the river though.

bet more on the turn, maybe a blocking bet on the river

I'm usually looking for a board texture that isn't likely to have improved my opponents hand. It varies from villain to villain.

For this one...he check/posted? Very unlikely he has an overpair. This type of board probably hits his range pretty hard, too. If I knew the guy to be an aggro river bettor, I'd consider c/c'ing.

id fold without a read, maybe he hit trips on that 5 or you had been passive by just calling, looks to me if i'm betting that you have aj+, at this level the all-in on the river is such a prime suspect for a bluff but i definately get it all in on the turn and cry when he flips over 5 x, i mean your not going to make your money off the river so just get it in
