I'm never sure when to get it in with QQ preflop. Here are a few examples from today, any thoughts on general strategy regarding QQ preflop would be appreciated.

Calling AI with QQ/AK is suicide v full stacks in my experience. I lost a ton of BI doing it when I first started out.

At 50 NL it's probably easier to get away with it, since there are more thinking players and such. I'm snapfolding all hands FWIW.

Hand 1. Fold. In hand one, just call his 3bet from the SB, you have position, and he made it a miniraise. He has an 8 for pfr, which is low. Would imagine he isnt pulling anything here.

Hands 2. I think this one is a fold, his raise wants you to call, trying to get the stacks in. He is UTG also.

Hand 3. This one is closer than the other 2 IMO. I think that him just pushing over your raise is kinda odd. I think you will see mid-pp's, 1010, JJ, AK, AQ enough times for this one to be a potential call. I probably fold this in the heat of battle, but I havent ran this one through pokerstove.

IMO.

Hand 1: 4b is a spew against a 23/8 (unless he's resteal happy out of the blinds), call his 3b and take a flop in position.

Hand 2: Bleh, fold to a standard TAG. [censored] spot but I don't see him doing this with worse than AK, or JJ.

Hand 3: Same as 2.

In 2 and 3 it seems as if you're not sure whether or not to give the UTG preflop 2b/4b any credit. Against TAG's with those stats, I personally would until I had reason not to.

Yeah actually hand 3 looks closer, I didn't notice 2 was a 4b and 3 was a 4b shove.

Those last two hands...are they the same villian or on the same table? If so you need to fire up a new table & practice good table selection.

I fold the 1st since he seems really tight, the other two are much more difficult since you didn't mention any reads other than PT #s. Any idea what type of hands he's opening UTG with?

Hand 1, I think you can call the 3 bet/fold to 5 bet. His range is pretty narrow there with a 8 PFR.

The last two are tricky because you're getting 4 bet from utg raisers. They both have pretty TAG stats for 6-max. I think you'll see AK a lot more in their range versus the first hand villain's range.

fwiw, I'd have trouble folding all three, but I think hand 1 can definitely fold to 5 bet from 8 PFR. Hand 2 looks very scary with just the bet to 22, so I can fold. Hand 3 is a call with villain having AK/KK/TT+ there.

Cardrunners screwed me up this week /images/graemlins/smile.gif I usually snapfold all of thse, but I happened to watch a video where they say folding QQ preflop is a big mistake at 50nl. I'll just say I got it in in all 3 cases, the hands were, in no particular order, AA, KK, and AK

it is nice posting easy questions for once though and getting lots of responses /images/graemlins/cool.gif

Seems like the betting patterns told you what they had! /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Did you win hand 3?
