hate the tables also!! i email Harry at VIP@AbsolutePoker.com once a month to ask for option of clean table interface..maybe more emails would help them see how many players avoid their site just because of the clutter..

you poor thing. Noone deserves staring at that original BG.
heres how i've done it:
create a background as youd like it and save it as bg.jpg to the desktop. Size shall be 800x600.(use paint/gimp/photoshop etc.)(or just grab one from pokermods.com or some.)
make four copies of it. rename the copies to:
bg7.dat
bg7_one.dat
bg9.dat
bg9_one.dat
(click "change anyway" when warning popups bout renaming the suffix)
Toss the files into the "data"-folder within the absolute-folder. replace all. woila!
works in XP at least.

OBS! important it be jpg and not gif or anything.

Excellent. You are my hero. My quick PS attempt:
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y195/kapw7/bg9.jpg

Right-click save as *.jpg, rename to *.dat and copy to the folder as per Fernet's post. Dont forget to keep a back-up for future updates of the Absolute software

How do I turn the jpg file into a dat file? Tried using Paint and Paint Shop but I am not given the option to save as a dat file. I also tried renaming them on the desktop but that seems to do nothing.

Open windows explorer and click tools > folder options.

Click the 'view' tab and uncheck "hide extensions for unknown file types".

Now your picture should have a ".jpeg" after it. Just rename it to "picturename.dat" and click 'yes' when it says something about changing the file type.

Lol me too. I can't be bothered to improve it any more.

It seems Absolute will not be the same anymore with all this 2p2 shark infestation /images/graemlins/frown.gif

Here are mine. The black background is not actually "black" but its like a textured paint, u cant really tell, but it makes it more pleasing to the eye.

also, I still need to clean up the table with the "Icon" u cant see it now, but when loaded into AP there are slight "artifacts" on the side of the letters. Nothing really bad, or distracting, but I still want to clean it up.

Tried both and they do work.

oreo sent me an rar of all the images with instructions on how to mod it. He split up all the mods into directories with the original directory having the screenshot-type images describing each one. You should be able to copy all of the files in whichever folder you like to your Absolute Poker\data directory.

Edit time ran out, but the one now linked is better organized than the original rar that I posted, if anybody downloaded it already.

how did u do that...I like the font and the way u have it set up. I wanted to add it onto my mod w/ the black table/navy background (probably using a white font).

Anyway u can do that for me?

Just wondering which tables heineken is sponsoring!

Dear Harry,

The AP software interface sucks a big one. Can you guys implement an interface without the desert and little drink tables, and leave only the important things? A clean interface is much easier to play on.

Also the "Player has disconnected" pop ups are annoying, it would be much better if they were unobtrusive and just displayed in the chat box. Also forcing the window to the foreground when its your turn to bet is annoying as hell when you try to multitable. Playing a bell sound is much more effective and doesn't want me to kick your GUI designer in the nuts.

Thanks for your time,

Braz should be hosting my newest mods, but here are three that mix a fav party mod of mine with colors more to my liking. (they have been tested and do fit the AP software well)

Also a custom one I made for Daft. Its basic colors, no gradients, etc. But its what he wanted:

(also its a LION HEAD on the table)

Lol. Oregood, I know what u mean, I'd never woulda told how to do it if i still played at AP(Not guilty to any background picks tho, "only" the secret formula). But, since i dont play there anymore and dont intend to in the future and the OP is a contributor to the forum i figured i dont give a [censored] anyway.

Sorry for any inconvenience this might have caused bla bla bla....

Not sure if anyone is interested or not, however, I spent a lot of time on it and someone sent this link to me, so I figured I'd post.

AP recently held a skin design competition, and I spent almost 20 hours designing this skin. If anyone likes, they're free to use it, of course.

http://www.absolutepoker.com/tableskins/customPokerRooms/tableImages/PiratesPokerParadise.jpg

An easy install EXE for this skin is available on AP at this address:

http://www.absolutepoker.com/tableskins/customPokerRooms/PiratesPokerParadise.exe

Any feedback is always appreciated.

You guys are great. I'm a computer idiot, but I was able to follow the instructions pretty easily.

One question I hesitate to ask, because I'm sure I won't understand the answer. I downloaded from the link Brazilio included and then also saved one of the photos here by right-clicking (specifically, the image with the odds). When I was going through the process, I noticed that the files Brazilio posted are now in my Absolute directory, as well as the files with the odds chart.

What I don't understand is why the odds chart is the one that Absolute uses now, since the file extensions all look the same to me.

This doesn't make a difference since I'm happy with my present look, but I am curious.

PS. Only explain if you can do it in language a 5 year old would understand.

I modified oreogod's a little bit to give it some texture, darker and easier on the eyes, IMHO. Image Link (http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e205/hobomccracken/ApTable_blue-grey_RELEIF.jpg)

Just thought I'd share it incase you wanted to try it out (I know this thread is old, but still very usefull, so a bump wont hurt)
