What do I do with Pocket Pair, when flop is paired?

I find these hands really hard to play. Some have suggested that paired boards are easy to bluff at, so go ahead and fire away since others will be afraid you have 3 of a kind.

If I happen to be ahead, do I bet to protect my hand from overcards.

If I check, I minimize the value of someone who has flopped 3 of a kind and hope to win a small pot if I'm ahead.

What is the standard play with an underpair to a paired board?

This looks pretty standard to me, presuming villain hasn't made a habit of floating you (and maybe even if he has). He doesn't necessarily need to have a ten here, but you are likely way behind or slightly ahead, and OOP.

What if I flip this around a little:
Say I have pocket 10's and the flop is 9-9-5 rainbow.
Should I take the same line?

What if the board has two of the same suit?
