I think I've played this hand very bad...starting with the FLOP call, but his flop bet was small so...

Looks like he's trying to reel you in with a huge hand like KK. We're getting 3:1 pot odds, need 4:1, but I think you could get huge monies from him on the river if you hit. Call.

You need 5:1 to call on the turn and you're only getting that if you get his entire stack almost every time you hit, which is unlikely since there will be 4 to the straight on the board. The 8 is a dubious out since he might already have a set, in which it case it would have massively negative implied odds, and would give him a straight if he has TT.

I'd think about folding pre-flop without a read. If he's pretty tight and only 3-bets big pairs, it's fine, since you will most likely stack him if you hit your set. But if he's 3-betting like AQ and AK, then even if you hit, you might not get anything out of him, in which case you really don't have the implied odds here.

Flop call is bad, he's not betting anything you beat into 2 other players, even if it is only 5, and you don't have the implied odds to call in order to improve.
I call the turn and fold the river unless my hand improves.
