Hadn't seen much action from villain over 40 hands or so. I had villain coverred, his bet is about 1/3 of my stack. Am I giving too much credit putting him on a range of JJ+ AQ+? This range makes it a coin flip. At the time I put more weight on him having KK-AA, but I'm not so sure that is the best way to eval. here.

I would probably call, based on the idea that I have AK and Villain could be playing push-or-fold preflop at this point.
But I'd feel a lot better about it if I'd seen Villain do this before.
snap call, this happens all the time and you're crushing him. I call with AT+.
I call with AJ or any pair here
Edit: FINE i call with AT too

What kind of range do you put villain on in these situations?

Lots and lots of garbage. AK is equivalent to the nuts here.

Any ace, any broadway, any pair. Intersperse some random trash (today villain pushed for 75 BBs PF with 75o) and there you go.

In my recent experience, it seems like it's either a range like (1) any PP, any two broadways, A9, and suited aces, with some XX also thrown in, or (2) a very narrow range like AK/AQs/TT+. It depends on the player.
But I'm not allowed to play on Party anymore, so I don't know what's going on there.

His range is probably a bit wider. Definitely call this.
