Playing. I figure the edge in this event comes from the fact that there is virtually NO literature on the correct strategy for this game. OTOH, I've played a fair chunk of this game online, tournaments and cash games both, so I believe I will have an edge on many of my opponents. I hope to build a stack in the early going, before the whole thing turns into a shove-fest. 220 or so signed up as of about 6:30 this morning.

The big part that concerns me is the hopelessly incompetent Rio dealers, who will surely screw so many things up...

I have made a 12th for 9k$ ! ...I was 90th/98 when the 2nd day start, & played a short stack all day long winning small pots or half of small pots, etc. At no point I had more than 10x the BB during the 2nd day.

In one hand, when we were sow to 18 players, I moved all-in with AA55 double suited, Mike Sexton who was right behind me tough for a wild before folding A4QQ. He would have knocked me out, but instead I've scooped a big pot with a board KKQ vs the A2-low-low of my opponent.

Chad Brown eventually knocked me out when I moved all-in with AKQJ, & catch nothing on the board.

Did he actually do it, or just threaten to while trying to look tough?

I finished 2nd for 140k. I had a blast playing this game. There is a ton of skill in PLO/8.

I came in 6th place on the final table.

The bracelet's winner deserved It. He was the player that I most raspected on the final two tables...
