i put him on AQo, maybe KQs. He can't have QQ w/o a reraise pf, don't think he has a 4 or an 8.

the turn c/r yells set of 2's to me, but i'm hoping it's either one of the first two hands.

i don't see how you don't call, either way.

it's rare that a set leads here (especially on a dry flop that opponent thinks often misses you since there is no A or K). but then he checkraises the turn. that's odd. so either he was leading with 22 on the flop (makes sense, since people lead with PPs against pfr all the time) or he picked up a flush draw (Ac8c, etc.) or turned some weird two pair.

well, he tabled a set of 8s, which makes sense, but I dont know if it would be very +EV to fold there, but Im not real sure

i guess if you ever feel like villain has something monster like a set after calling that 4x rr on the flop, i guess since he checked the turn, you could have just checked for another free river card and then made your judgement.

cause why would the guy call a 4x rr on a disconnected/rainbow flop w/o having something. either he has 99, TT, or AQo, in which case you have him dominated, and just induce him to bluff on later streets if you feel he didn't improve, and like in this case where he had the fortune to flop a set, you induce him to give you another free card by letting him slow play the turn. all the while the pot is still $6 by the river, instead of ballooning on the turn.

shrug.
