I’m sure this has been beat to death and I did use the search option first but could not find this. Can anyone tell me for sure if it legal for the US banks to cash a check from Poker Stars?

Yes. PokerStars checks don't say "PokerStars" on them.

Mine cashed one for $1k last week without a problem.

Now I'm not remembering, but I thought that one or two banks had stopped cashing checks from PokerStars.

I recently had cashouts from Stars and Bodog - both of them came in undescript checks from finance companies written in the United States. The checks said " 'XXXX' Finance Co" - non identifying of online poker or gaming sites. Checks cashed through my bank no problem.

Ominous,

How long did your Bodog check take?

Thanks. I requested one on June 2nd, so I guess this week seems about right.

I got my tracking number this last Saturday, so I knew a day in advance it was coming if that helps.

thats a lot longer wait than i would ever tolerate, id insist on WU or epasseport or a wire transfer no matter how much higher the fee. obviously most of u are hi rollers, and not NEEDING UR WINNINGS to pay ur monthly bills.

If you're dealing in amounts approaching 10K transfers, you no have the problem of getting into smurfing issues, and having the FBI pick you up with repeated transfers. Checks are the only thing that is not completely transparent to the U.S. government. FYI
