Believe it or not the 50K horse starts at 600 1200 Holdem and on the very first hand of razz you are playing 800-1600. Assuming there are a few raises and both players have a reasonable low draw; a player can lose almost 20% of their 100k in chips on the very first razz hand. This is a far cry from last year when i believe the first razz hand was 300 600 with 50k in chips.

DN has a blog up about the structure. Im not familiar enough w/ these structures to say one way or the other. I do wonder if it will actually last 5 days tho.

Do you know how rare a single reraise is in Razz? It's pretty hard to lose more than 5 BBs in a Razz pot. Starting with a stack of >80BBs seems pretty fair to me. Every level should be meaningful.

At least the final table isn't NL Hold 'Em.

Wow 5 days of 14 hour days. That might be rough on Doyle.

With decent players, there are rarely any of the big bet streets on razz with multiple bets.

The 2 a.m. stuff is incorrect. Pokernews is reporting:

Just Announced: Play Per Day
In light of the extremely long days last year, this year's event has been extended to a five-day event. After a talk with Howard Lederer, Jack Effel has just announced that the plan is to play 18 levels today (nine hours), and 15 levels every day after this (Jack also announced that is subject to change based on the amount of players remaining each day).

Level 8 - Razz is the game. Limits are 1200/2400 with a 300 ante. Bring in of 300 and completion 1200

This hand just before the break. Playing Razz. Eli Elezra has won the biggest pot of the tournament on one of the craziest hands our veteran reporter Tom Sexton has seen. After a ton of ram and jam action, Eli Elezra bets blind showing 5 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 5 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 5 /images/graemlins/club.gif 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif. The other players in the hand, and their boards:
Tuan Le - A /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 9 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 9 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 8 /images/graemlins/spade.gif
Chad Brown - A /images/graemlins/heart.gif K /images/graemlins/club.gif 10 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif 9 /images/graemlins/club.gif
David Chiu - 7 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 4 /images/graemlins/club.gif 10 /images/graemlins/club.gif

Eli had bet out blind, and when the other players who called did, Eli sweated his card, and jumped out of his seat "Deuce!!" he says elatedly. He flips up his down cards 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 4 /images/graemlins/club.gif, and makes 2 /images/graemlins/heart.gif 3 /images/graemlins/spade.gif 4 /images/graemlins/club.gif 5 /images/graemlins/club.gif 7 /images/graemlins/spade.gif as the other players muck dejectedly. Eli is all smiles. They counted the pot for us, cause we couldn't beleive it. It was indeed a $115,000 pot....Eli is up to over 300,000 chips, and the clear leader at this point. Note: The suits of the cards are not 100% accurate.
