Villain is 16/12 over 45, not enough hands for pf aggr. read. I was pretty sure I was beat when he raised the river, but I was getting about 4-1. Fold?

Your bet sizes are too small at every step, need to increase those first of all, and you can fold this though calling isn't horrible either.

So I should have bet pot I guess. If I bet pot the first two streets and got called would you still pot-bet the river?

You don't need to bet pot. I often don't do that because I don't want to build a bigger pot, maybe thats what you were trying to do here but there's a fine line between keeping pot small and making tiny bets.

PF raise to 0.5-0.55
Flop bet .7-.75
Turn bet 1.6-1.9
River, if you decide to bet, bet like $3

Your weak bets encourage him to not fold here. Your weak river bet could have induced a bluff so I might call here.

eh this is 5NL, I don't think my bets would be seen as weak at this level.
