Is this betting reasonable?

Well lets think about it.A raise that size, means that you have very little fold equity. So you are looking @ 36% to win the hand (maybe slightly higher if your ace wins it, but that seems meh to be honest.) so you get your stack in on a 36% draw with no fold equity. Im going to say, not reasonable.

on another note, i dont know if you want to be playing bit pots preflop with A5s, you run into this type of problem.

you shouldn't have reraised at flop. Raise at flop was "okay". If you checked he probabley would have did small raise like 2 dollars tops and you would get to see another card. Then bet turn and bet river.
