i went against my reads that he had a 9. was this a good call?

if you think he had a 9, and you dont beat trip 9's, why did you call? do you hate money?

with the way he played it, clearly this is a fold IMO.

learning to trust your reads, whether wrong or right, is a key part of the game. we all read hands wrong but if you don't go with what you read then you will never develop as a player.

i prob fold this about 75% of the time, depending on the player of course.

people get so excited over there high pocket pairs and don't fold them. the only pocket pair i rarely fold is aces and being able to fold them in certain situations when your read is right is a good thing. i just have to overcome that part of me that says im gona get doubled up on this hand and play the hand to the fullest so i can get the most value out of the hand besides trying to get the other guy to put all of his chips in the middle. im trying to learn to trust my own reads because i got good at getting reads but sometimes your like frig this i know i don't got the nuts but i cant lay this down. i don't think im the only one with this problem.
