If villain is three-betting you light, I think that AQ is a pretty decent hand to four-bet with in position. As played, we have trips, and villain is an idiot, but I'm a little concerned by his river bet. We all but announced that we had trips, and in response he bets bigger? That's kind of scary, since it sounds like QJ, JJ, and T9 are all within his range.

Board: Qc Jd 8h Qh 2s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 26.389% 22.22% 04.17% 8 1.50 { AcQs }
Hand 1: 73.611% 69.44% 04.17% 25 1.50 { JJ, 88, AQs, KQs, QTs+, T9s, AQo, KQo, QTo+, T9o }

Of course, if you think he'll call a shove substantially wider than this, a shove can still be good. Otherwise, a call is in order.

Two ways you can look at his bet, he is trying to slow you down, or he is trying to duplicate the turn action where you raised his small bet - you didn't slow down on the turn when he did that, so why would he try to block you that way again - I agree with a call.

if he has a hand he is villing to go all in on river with, shouldnt he be 3betting this turn?

Pocket two's obv /images/graemlins/grin.gif - if he thinks hero has a queen and he is beating it on the turn, he may not want to scare him off, might feel the push after hero's raise looks too strong perhaps.

Same hand also very possible.
