villian is 47/2/1.5 after 40 hands, have seen him play set passive on flop and turn and checked river OOP (his villian checked behind). Wasnt sure to exercise pot control or fire again given how drawy the board is??

Edit: lol sorry titled it wrong

We don't have 2pair this hand. Wrong hand history or something?

Villian is passive, and is likely drawing. This means we should fire out a good value bet, like 8 bucks to charge him. If he has an ace, we're in a sticky spot, but his kicker often isn't going to play, so you might see a split here sometimes.

I fire again, but I'm not too happy about it because of our weak kicker.

The 47/2 is what sells me on a bet. Granted, it's not a huge sample size, but he's pretty damn passive, and is likely to call with 2clubs, gutshots to the high straight, Ax, and maybe weaker pairs than that. Also, A3-A5 split with us, and A7-A9 we may split with bc of one more card to come.

I usually check behind for pot control, even though there are tons of draws, our hand could already be dominated / is just way too weak right now. I re-evaluate on river and generally call up to a 2/3 sized pot bet.

i either bet and then not put another penny in the pot or just give up and check fold. just depends on my feel at the table. ur hand isnt that great but there are an abundance of draws out there so i think it is best to mix it up. prolly depends on my image at the time as well as how the table has been playing

Pot control really isn't the operative concept here, since if you bet here and he leads the river you instamuck. Which makes this hand pretty easy to play if you bet. Villain will likely call with a very wide range on this turn, and he's passive enough that I don't think we get much out of checking behind and calling a river bet.

you are right Norton, I didn't pay attention to villains aggression, I suppose that is a more optimal way of playing it.

Bet turn and check river.

Turn might be a check against a different villain, but not against this one.

And yes, river's an obvious check-behind or fold to a bet.
