Villain is kind of scary to play against because he seems a little crazy. For instance, I'd previously seen him bluff-raise a river in position and fold to a push getting 5:1. Loves to donk flops, go for weird checkraises, that sort of thing. That said, I haven't really seen him three-betting much preflop. I don't want to call and check/fold most flops, but I think that this guy is going to be really tough to play against OOP in a four-bet pot, assuming he doesn't just move in over the top of my reraise. So what options do I have?

Preflop: I would act on his weak 3bet... 4bet to get a better idea of where you stand going to the flop, or maybe just push.

And get out on the flop, not enough info to continue imo.

That min raise preflop to me means a pair 90% of the time, I don't think you can do much after calling him PF - I'd be patient and wait for another spot.

Just 4bet pre and the hand will be a whole lot easier!

I don't like a 4-bet because we'll be stuck with a huge pot OOP most of the time, and we'll whiff around 2/3rds of the time. Maniacal or not, we don't really know if he's 3-betting light. I think I give him credit this one time.

No most of the time he'll fold...

Maniacs don't really like folding

If he was a 3-betting maniac I would 4-bet shove here but you say he doesn't 3-bet much so what you did looks good to me.

That's the rub. I don't know how much of his range I can get him to fold, and it's really unlikely he'll fold an overpair on a low flop.

I guess maniacs on pokerstars don't 3bet much from the tight ranges everyones putting them on. Where I play, I'm fine 4betting here and expect to see lots of folds, or folds on flop. FWIW that sounds sarcastic but its not /images/graemlins/grin.gif
