So i don't have any reads on this but my reasoning for folding here is that i take so many pots uncontested on the flop that i generally accept that someone playing back at me has something.

i raise to 1.2-1.5 here against almost all opponents - then slow down in a major way if called.

The thing is, a large part of his range is AX for a typical player. If i knew he was a fish i'd be raising there, but i had no reads.

this is really common at the micros as im sure you know and on ace high flops it really is +ev in my book to raise these bets up.

What kind of hands do you put them on here then?

Raise... They'll fold or have you beat, but imo they'll bluff and/or fold a weak A often enough to make a raise +EV here regardless of your hand.

i think villain could be holding anything from a weak ace, a low pp, a draw trying to block to complete air.

a good raise folds out most of these hands and is essentially just a variation of the c-bet bluff.

also if you fold this every time without an ace then you broadcast when you do have one by calling/raising which is not cool.

So this is another spot where you'd nearly always raise. I understand. Thanks.

yeah the problem with these hands is that on this flop you suffer from huge reverse implied odds. even if I think he is BSing I take my stand elsewhere

Yeah this is often Ace rag trying to find out if they're beat. Trouble is, when you tell them they're beat by raising, they often call anyway.

But you have to raise bets like this a reasonable ammount of time so your hands arent to easy to read, and to stop anyone taking small pot shots at you. If you always fold here with no Ace, people will keep making small bets like this as a bluff as they would have great odds to do so.
