What are you trying to accomplish with your bet?

I'd bet again, around $40, and then throw the rest in on the river - if he has Queens or better, you might have just scared him off.

Exactly.. making weaker hands fold and stronger hands get all your chips (not very often).
Make a bet around 2/3 of the pot so around $40/$45 is fine. This leaves you committed to a villain c/r anyway but you've got the best hand pretty much all the time here.

Since you are both a bit deep, you might want to consider raising preflop accordingly to avoid implied odds for set-mining, i.e. $14 or more pre should do it. But that is a minor point. I like your play. Presumably, he wants to get to showdown cheap with JJ to KK.

Check turn and call a small river bet. I dont like this board at all.

Go 45 here and push river or call shove or whatever.

LOL @ not getting it all-in
my problem with betting 40 is: there is a ton of scare cards for both of us and I have to push any river.

45 though shoving is ok. 45 gets it in installments though. He may call with no plan for river. River comes and he is getting 4-1 and talkes himself into calling.

What don't you like about it? I doubt villain is raising and calling a 3bet from UTG with T7 or 57. It is much more likely that he has an overpair.

nah villain knows how to play
he'll fold or shove never call
the only question is: which bet looks weaker, 45 or overpush

lmao, are you serious?

I don't mind how you played the hand, sometimes depending on the opponent they can even look you up lighter this way.
