i like a turn check, raise river if he bets, check if he checks

Looks fine to me. He isn't going to call a bet on the riv if you're beating him. Plus, even if you lost this pot, you get to see how he plays whatever hand he just had. I'm assuming you took this down or he had JJ?

if you had more money i'd say go all-in (b/c you'd probably get a fold from a higher pp, but with only a 1/2 PSB left, I'm checking behind and taking my chances.

what hands are we beating on the turn that are going to call our bet? overs are ~13% to hit on river so i dont think letting them have a free card is terrible with the ability to either valube bet or induce bluff on river. over pairs are not going away to our bet unless we go ape on the river and rep the 8. and certainly an 8 or boat is a possibility.

personally I like a check here.

There is one simple reason why betting the turn is the better option. If we check it and a A/K/Q/J/T comes down and he bets into it. How much crack would we have to smoke to raise it, how could we bet with a hand that would hate a check raise.

The turn is the last chance saloon to extract value here. The hand as played is excellent.
