Why does the limit exist? Is it a software limitation or is it imposed to keep the number/size of searches down?

I'm thinking about a way to automate searches to get around it. If it's something someone is trying to prevent me from doing, I guess I have no more to say.... /images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Yes. It was done to limit the load on the system.

Oh, thanks.

There have been some system upgrades, have there not? Is the limit still necessary? Is it likely to remain so?

Some of the current limits were actually set during the last software upgrade to improve overall forum performance. The search and PM limits most likely won't be changed in the near future.

Of course, these limits might change if 2+2 decides to use different forum software.
