Ok, I know, it is not big time poker but we need EVERY win we can get.

Seems Virginia has two gaming laws, a chance law and a ‘skill’ law.

The march of Dimes has agreed to the beneficiary of Texas Holdem in Portsmouth, VA.

Yes, the March of Dimes no less (LATEST STORY)!

I have been following this for some time now. The game started out being run by the fraternal order of Police but under pressure from a city attorney they agreed to stop.

Seems the local Prosecutor Mobley has determined poker is ‘SKILL’ with the blessings of the Virginia Attorneys General Office when he said it is a question of fact not law and I will no give an opinion either way. A FORMER Va. Atty. Gen. Opined it is illegal though he is out of office. Said Mobley, “Mobley said in a recent interview that Virginia law doesn't regulate charitable card tournaments. He also thinks that Texas Hold ' em is primarily a game of skill, not chance (Story ONE).

"This is a question of facts, not the law, and therefore, we cannot provide an opinion," said Tucker Martin, a spokesman for McDonnell (Va. Atty. Gen.)(Story ONE).
