Villain has been running pretty laggy 44/14, with 2 flop aggro (and his aggro doubles on each street after).

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.05 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool (http://poker-tools.flopturnriver.com/Hand-Converter.php) from FlopTurnRiver.com (http://www.flopturnriver.com) (Format: 2+2 Forums)

SB ($10)
BB ($3.16)
UTG ($5.19)
MP ($1.82)
Hero ($6.62)
Button ($6.62)

Preflop: Hero is CO with 7/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, 7/images/graemlins/spade.gif.
UTG calls $0.05, 1 fold, Hero raises to $0.25, Button calls $0.25, 2 folds, UTG folds.

Flop: ($0.62) 4/images/graemlins/club.gif, 5/images/graemlins/club.gif, 2/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero bets $0.4, Button calls $0.40.

Turn: ($1.42) 6/images/graemlins/heart.gif (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

River: ($1.42) 5/images/graemlins/diamond.gif (2 players)
Hero bets $0.5, Button raises to $1, Hero calls $0.50.

Final Pot: $3.42

My thought process:

He could have basically any 2 on the flop.

Turn completes too many draws, so I check. When he checked behind I began to think he either had wiffed overs, or the 6 helped him (A6-tier hand), or maybe he's drawing to clubs.

I didn't like the 5 pairing on the river, but can you do. If he had a 5 on the flop I think he would have raised me, or bet the turn. So I assumed it didn't help him.

I figured I'd underbet the river purposely vs this villain since he was so aggro on the river. My intentions were to get value out of my hand (instead of checking), and force him to raise me or give up.

I figured I was ahead more often than not, so I called. What happens if villain raises more on the river though? I would have found it difficult to call a shove, or even a $2-3 bet. How often am I really ahead here?

I'd c/c to induce a bluff. I think if he's aggro, he'll bet more hands you beat than hands that you beat and call/raise you your river bet.

I'd check/call an aggressive player and hope that he decides to take a stab at the pot with overcards or a smaller pair or even a busted /images/graemlins/club.gif draw (which is kind of what he played it like IMHO).
