Has Antigua been ignoring US intellectual property rights all along?

I was just going to post that this guy must have an interest on the inventors end, but decided to do a simple search on Derek Webb and inventor.

Ends up he is the supposed inventor, so go figure why he has this printed.....

He has made more than $50 million in lawsuits alone. So the greedy mothereffer could care less about all of us and wants more loot.

The companies are all US companies and I don't see how this involves Antigua at all. I find it ironic that PTG was awarded $13 million in damages for something that is illegal. I suppose that would be grounds for appeal?

The OP's post is extremely irrelevant. The issue is not whether Antigua has clean hands with respect to Intellectual Property in the past ...It may receive a Letter of Marque going forward. Pirates of the Caribbean IV.

(Actually, Antigua in the past regularly lifted whatever television signal it chose from incoming cable television and concurrently broadcast the content on Channel 28, the local free station. Similarly, I doubt that any DVDs sold on the island were orginals.)

So the WTO may allow Antigua to do something that they're doing already anyway? That kinda makes me less optimistic about the U.S. giving a crap about the WTO ruling.

Question. Is the US committment to renegotiate its gambling market access binding? If dozens of countries file for compensation can they decide after or on June 19th to NOT renegotiate and comply with the ruling and make nice with Antigua? I was thinking how disastrous this would be for the country if we are stuck losing GDP because of unfavorable trade terms with the added bogey of not being able to play at Party or bwin.

My apologies, I meant the article. However, by posting it without comment, I guess that I don't know your position.

With respect to the WTO, the US can really do what it pleases until the US courts say differently. It is an interesting question, though we will have to see how it unfolds.
