They look damn near like bowling shirts.

I'm guessing alot of wannabes will wear this type of stuff. That's the first person that comes to my mind that would wear this. After all, may as well look the part when you're berating the fish at the table.

I'd actually rather wear that thing than most of the hats and shirts I own/seen from various online poker rooms (although a couple of the PokerStars polos aren't too terrible).

There are more styles to choose from than that big azz A /images/graemlins/diamond.gifK /images/graemlins/diamond.gif stripe. Phil Gordon and "K.W." wore shirts by Highroller Fashions in the movie "Final Table Poker". I thought those shirts looked good.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't wear any of that stuff either. Nothing with a poker logo(unless I'm getting paid to wear it) or poker 'style' shirt.

Actually, when I'm playing, I'll watch for players who tend to wear that type of stuff. They tend to be overconfident and more for the flash than of any real substance of their play. Not always, but the majority of the time in my experience.

I like wearing cheap track suits from the Puma outlet store, myself. More comfortable...

As I've mentioned in previous posts....I was AMAZED at the number of people who were proudly sporting their Partypoker swag on the PPM cruise even though there was ZERO obligation to wear the stuff.
It was like 'Parade of Online-Poker Dorks'.

And my impression of the quality of play of most who chose to wear the stuff (as opposed to those who were NOT wearing the stuff) is similar to yours.

GF was shopping a few months ago and saw some T-shirt that said "POKER KING" in big, bold letters.
It's SOOOO freaking cheesy that I have deemed it actually worth wearing.

I compare wearing that shirt to a poker-room to be roughly the same as an alcoholic going to a beer wearing a white T-shirt that says "BEER" (or something like that).

I'm also not completely opposed to some of the online-poker T-shirts.
My other idea was to wear ALL PokerStars, Absolute and UB gear on the PartyPoker cruise...but I didn't have the heart to give that a try.

for the most part though you are unlikely to spot me wearing any of that stuff except perhaps as a joke.

i wear my pstars stuff all the time and i've got a couple HRF shirts that i wear occasionally too, but NEVER AT A POKER GAME. i don't care what effect, good or bad, it would make on other players, i would just feel like a total tard/tool wearing them there.

Poker is/has become an image game for many players especially newer players. Many still play trying to look the part. Letting their egos get in the way so they wear it on their sleeves. Literally. They try so hard to project the image of being 'Mr. joe poker player' that that's all they really get concerned with. I've also found alot of these types tend to tablecoach and berate the fish a bit because, evidently, they've read a book and think they know everything. They tend to play the game trying to gain respect from their projected image.

There are exceptions, but I see the other side weighed down much heavier. Come to think of it, I can't think of any real good players I've played with that really wear any of this or anything like it. But that doesn't mean they don't exist.

Wow, initially I was going to complain that you were spamming the board, but the website is so hilarious that I will forgive the commercial.

Why reply to a post more than a year out of date?

Especially in a thread about a site which has since died.
