Villian has been a calling station for the past 10 orbits, this is the first time he's led out on the flop.

The donkbet from a weak player here is usually TPMK to TPGK, and very rarely set/two pair. Even though it being 3 way to the flop, sets are still unlikely. I raise for value/control to $9 here, and evaluate from there.

From your description it doesnt sound like he would be leading out with a draw. I would still raise kinda smallish maybe to around $8 and fold to a re-raise. Check behind on turn (since we can prob discount a draw), call river/bet for value depending on board/betsize.

i raise to 11 happy to get it in, and happy to take it down. but i definately bet 11 so as to not even consider a fold, considering he'll only have 4 behind

I would raise and get it all if I have to do. You should be good in this spot.

Call, you'll get his money on the turn.

I think calling is bad. Raise to 8ish and then you can easily get the rest in the turn.

And you won't get his money on the flop if he's bluffing, or if he's overvaluing 7s or something. Waiting to the turn is more +EV than pushing over the flop because you give him more of a chance to hang himself with mediocre holdings that he would normally pitch via a flop shove, and I think his range leans more towards the former than the second.

shortstacks don't usually get away from top pair anyway

Our hand is vulnerable

The 7 was 2nd pair. If he has top pair, even if an ace falls, the shortstack is usually going to ge stacked anyway... We want to play optimally against as much ofh is range as possible, not just the most likely or easiest to pinpoint.
