Villian just sat at the table w/ a short stack. I seem to be getting into situations like this. What should I do on he turn?

You can either fire a small second barrel and turn your hand into a bluff, villain won't call without at least an ace most of the time.
Or, since firing will commit you to the pot anyways with such a short stack, you are better off inducing and check calling a smallish bet. You're basically gonna have to read whether his bet seems weak or strong, assuming he bets!.

Meh, bet, play for stacks. If he spiked an ace, you know he floats.
