In this hand I'm really not interested if I should call river or not. I want to know if I gave him implied odds considering the size of the river bet I threw out there. What do you think of the size of my river bet? I didn't want to call more than $4 so I threw it out there myself.

My read is I have no read, it's his first button and I've never seen him before

This is fine, as you'll get value out of king with the bet on the river, I think I c/c sometimes too.

About your question: he gets 4 to 1 if he thinks you'll bet 4 on the river, so its about break even. I think I pot the turn on this board, Kings always call and you charge flushes.

I don't like to check/call here, because if villain bets pot on the river, you do not know if you're beat or not. At least by putting a blocking bet out, you know you're getting called by hands you likely beat and getting raised by hands that beat you... easy fold. lost the minimum. good job

yeah, well played.

however once you get called on flop, i think you should charge the draws more. $2.25 isn't enough if you're still betting when the spade comes (as you did). its about even for villian, as cmh pointed out.
plus, say on of them call and the other one had a draw, he would get pretty good odds. so since theres two others in the hand on the turn, i would bet $3.

I like the river bet/fold, but I'm betting more on the turn.

$2.50 or $2.75 seems right.

[/ QUOTE ]Fair enough, but if I bet that extra $.75 on the flop I'm going to bet $5 on the river instead of $5 so it comes out the same. /images/graemlins/frown.gif
