Any reads on villain? I'd probably call as well, it's a small bet and we're ahead of a bunch of hands (Jx, 99, maybe TT against a passive villain preflop).

Why not call the flop bet. You really have a small pot hand. Villain often has a top pair hand here. You are way ahead. Control the pot and let him draw to his 3 outs or 2 outs if he has a hand like A8. You played a big pot with a weak top pair. It didn't have to be that way.

As played, you have to pay him off. A lot of Jx hands are paying you off there as well as TT and 99.

It's a pretty drawy board, though. I like the raise here because it charges all the draws and also helps define villain's hand in case he doesn't have a top pair type hand. No reads on villain so I can't say for sure of course, but I still like the raise. Do I want to play a big pot with this hand, no. But I don't think we can just call on the flop.
