I want to preface this post by pointing out that I WON this hand. This is in no way a BBV or zomg I run bad post. I've been playing poker for a long time, but playing 6-max cash (or cash of any variety) for not very long. I feel like I understand all of the important concepts, have some idea of when most of them should be applied, etc.

I am not crushing 25NL. Indications everywhere are that I should be, right? "A monkey could crush 25NL," or so I've heard.

I want to understand if plays like this are costing me the winnings I should be enjoying. Again, I won this hand but if this is really bad then I need to make myself stop doing it. Of course, winning hands like this just makes it worse because it encourages me to continue playing like this.

Villain is 53/12. Shortly before this I played a medium-large pot with villain which I won, and I'd been pretty aggressive at the table. I didn't have anything concrete to tell me that this person wasn't calling with random cards to flop the straight, etc.

<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $7</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $16.15</font>, Hero calls $9.15.

River: ($39.65) J/images/graemlins/diamond.gif <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

Final Pot: $39.65

Is this an easy fold that I just need to learn how to make? Here's another example of a hand that everyone is saying is an easy fold, but I called and the villain showed a crappy hand. Sucks being OOP. I'd bet less on the flop (about 3/4) and less on turn (about 2/3). What's his post flop aggression look like? I usually call this depending on villian's post flop aggression and see what happens on the river.

Be very careful with aces on two tone coordinated boards.

I think the fact that you won a good pot against a loose (aggro?) player makes this an easy call. When you win a bit pot and are in another one against the same person not much longer assume they are on tilt (especially if they have high VPIP). Don't sweat hands like this. You're losing somewhere else.

What does that mean though? Bet less? Let him draw?
