First hand at this table so I have no clue about anyone. At the time, I think I was thinking that the raise was a flush draw. If that was the case, then calling wouldn't make sense. Then there was the guy behind me who called the first bet and I had no clue what he was thinking. Maybe I was just trying to buy time. Which doesn't make any sense either.

So do I fold to the first min-raise?

That looks right to me. I'm not sure how to respond to the minraise, don't think raising is an option and this is an ugly hand to have 3-handed. Folding seems bad though. Maybe not. I lose the extra $2.50 here also.

I dont think call is a good move here. the situation will be worse on the turn because there are many ugly cards that can show up. its a raise or fold decision and your opponents are unknown here, i think you can fold this. iam not pretty sure about my play but the call is not good imo.

Blah to postflop.

Preflop, you have to raise more. Make it $1.50 to go at a minimum. $1 is what you should be making it without limpers, and you got 2 in in front of you and you are OOP.

Yeah, I was obv not paying enough attention. Usually with a limper I make it $1.25 and with 2 I'd make it either $1.25 or $1.5 depending on villains.

Missed it too /images/graemlins/smile.gif i go for 4BB + 1BB for every limper in the hand.

Wait, no. I don't usually up my bet with 99. With mid and small pairs I guess I thought the raise was sweetening the pot. Probably why I was a little lost on this one. Usually these hands resolve into a couple scenarios: 1) I make a set against one or a few people, which usually plays pretty easily. 2) I miss a set against one person. This plays pretty easily most of the time too. I can cbet it, value bet it, fold it, whatever the board/opponent calls for. 3) I miss against a lot of people. This is usually just check/fold. Except occasionally I miss, sort of, against just 2 people. And then it's all weird and stuff because the board is drawy.

Should I really be making big raises with 99 PF? I want to get heads up? I've been playing it almost exclusively for set value.

[/ QUOTE ]I don't think middle pairs should be played for set value in position facing no raises. It's stronger than that for sure.

If you want to sweeten it, minraise. /images/graemlins/grin.gif

You can play for set value I suppose. Just call then. You can still make a nice pot if someone has something by limping. I prefer to PFR 99 tho, and I raise it like I would if I had AK/AA/JJ to the 4x+1 standard.
