Villain is kong, which I was not aware meant something at the time. Anyway, I'm looking for both 1)How to proceed on the turn after he insta-calls the flop and 2)How much to bet on the river, or whether or not I should check-raise.

I think checking flop and going bet/bet is better on turn/river than betting the flop and checking the turn.

On that river, I think the most profitable thing to do is bet like 600 and try to induce a raise over your 'obvious blocking bet.'

i would definitely not slow down on this turn w/o some history because it's really draw heavy and with what i imagine your image is you can get 3 streets of value from lots of hands that will play pot control on the turn. it's also unlikely ur beat because he's going to fast play almost all of the hands that have you crushed on the flop so he doesn't get outdrawn/lose action from an overpair. once we get here on riv i probably c/r but i'm really not sure. i think overbetting is an interesting idea.

Weird line for a competent villain to take, esp. against you.

In his shoes I'd expect you to bet your whole range here. Of course, the reason for that is that it's very hard for him to call a ton. Half the pot seems about right. His likeliest hand seems to be some sort of pocket pair. To have made it this far (without betting the turn) seems to imply that he thinks you can have a smaller pair or something often enough. The worse he is, the more Ax hands get in his range (and so obviously he'll have a few more two-pair hands) (and will also be less sensitive to bet sizes) so the more you should bet.

I don't think he will bet here very often if you check.

I would fire again on the turn. I don't see how you don't go broke or close if he is ahead, and all the draws missed on the turn.

If we 2/3 the turn and he calls we have like 1/3 pot left

I would bet nearly the full pot on the flop and then bet basically allin on the turn.

In your exact situation I would definitely have bet the turn, I'm not a fan of the the check at all, no reason to think you are behind, and your opponent could have lots of outs.

btw I have no idea who kong is, but I don't think he's all that big a favorite to have a set. Lots of people don't slowplay a set on T97 board.
