First bvb confrontation. Not much of a read on villain. Villain called fairly quickly preflop.

easy call IMO, I think you have to call here. raising is probably not a good idea though

OT: Why are you betting 375 on the flop?

Pretty good question /images/graemlins/smile.gif Pot is like 540, I'd usually bet a touch more also (maybe 400). But ok it's close enough to the right amount, so I don't have a major problem with it.

why not? not a particularly draw heavy board, seems like a good amount to begin to build a pot against one pair hands.

whole hand looks fine, folding river is obv 10 degrees of terrible and raising is almost just as bad.

I might actually take a non standard line and bet the turn. I understand the pot control considerations, but his most likely holdings after he checks to us on the turn is a pair of Kings or Jacks, so we're usually still ahead unless its exactly KT or JT. You can still get value out of plenty of kings and QJ type hands and even if you fold them out thats fine too since you aren't giving them a free card for him to pull ahead, winning the pot and sometimes a large river bet from you. Also even if you are beat checking the turn is still going to cause you to lose a lot calling his river bet anyway.

Plus he's a random donkey and might make a really dumb turn call so betting gives him the chance to spew more chips to you.

yea i don't mind betting the turn too. And if we don't bet the turn, it's because we think we have a better shot of getting paid off on the river either by his lead or a value bet when checked to, so i dont think the river is really a question, especially on a blank 2

Yeah, betting the turn is good for the reasons Newt said. Plus, people are less likely to check two pair to us on this board than on most.
