The final version of the new law (SB 752), which is awaiting the Governor’s signature, was slightly changed from the House Bill. The House Bill said that no limit Hold-em games would be permitted “provided the maximum required player buy-in does not exceed $100.” SB 752 says "a cardroom operator may conduct games of Texas Hold-em without a betting limit if the required player buy-in is no more than $100,”

In my view, eliminating the word “maximum” diminishes the ambiguity. That is, no one can be required to buy-in for more than $100, but anyone should be allowed to buy-in for more.

This issue has been examined ad naseum and it will not be clear until the card rooms actually start spreading the games. Please seach before you start a new topic. If you are a Florida resident, please post when the news of the governor signing occurs.

But is it skill or luck?

I live in Florida and I was at a casino playing a 45 dollar buy-in tournament. The dealer is my friend and he told me that on July 1st there is going to be a Texas Hold Em cash game and it was going to be 100 dollar buy-in. I cant wait. Right now they only have limit games for 2/2. so we'll see!
