Say your bankroll management says you need 20 buyins to play a certain level. You play .5/1 NL and buyin at the max for $100 (2k bankroll).

If you decide to play shortstack and only buyin for say half a normal buyin ($50) would you then be playing overolled w/ 40buyins for that level? Couldn't you theoretically play 1/2 instead and buyin for 50 buyins for $100 rather then 100 buyins at .5/1 and you would only be risking 20 buyins either way?

I don't currently play shortstacked I'm just kind of curious as to how these players bankroll management may work, anyone have an idea? Sorry if this doesn't make any sense just ask me.

don't short stack

if you do, you need 1 buy in for proper bankroll management

"standard buyin rule" = 20x buyin

If you shortstack the amount you buyin with changes so you need less.

nothing more to see here.
