Villian is pretty donkish...hes around 40/23...hes been floating me a lot and I've been checking the turn for his calls. This time I tried to double barrel. Is this a wrong move here?

Well, you can make a case for double-barreling, but once he calls the turn, w/ no obvious draws out there, the river is pure spew, imo.

eta: with those stats though, I think I find a better spot, and I don't just say this since he called you down. If he hits a piece, he's hanging around. So instead of bluffing, just take him to valuetown and abuse him when you do hit a flop. GL!

Once he calls flop, you have to check behind turn and draw to your 8 outs for free, as it doesn't look like villian is folding turn.
