If you missed, I had a contest (http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=10045956&page=0&fpart=al l&vc=1) a few ago for choosing the name of my new poker learning site. The decision was tough, and we had some obstacles. But here are the results.

Winner: corsakh for "I raise". Domain chosen is iraiseit.com

Runner up: TheRenaissance for "poker gym".

Runner up: RRiccio for "skill game".

Thanks so much for the help guys. I'll answer any more questions about the site in this thread. An announcement will come when it launches.

That's what I woulda gone with. Anyway, what kind of timeline are we looking at for the launch? I'm really excited about the new site.

Nice Isura, could you give a brief summary of the site content, and will it just be NLHE 6-max or more?

Not only NLHE. We already have a very good tourney guy making vids, and probably a top-notch LHE player too. I also know some friends that play high stakes PL Omaha, so that is a definite possibility for videos.

"]Will videos be subscription-based or on a pay-per-vid basis (or both)? Thoughts on initial pricing?"

Probably both. Initial pricing isn't set in stone, but we're shooting for around $15/month.

How are you going to market it? I assume you are hoping to get a lot of business from 2p2 but anywhere else in mind?

is there going to be a huge sign up fee like the 99.9$ on cardrunners?

Sign-up fees are necessary since otherwise some would just sign-up for 1 month and download all of the content. This is very unfair to loyal customers.

BUT, our pricing model will be cheaper than cardrunners. We are considering $15/month, and $50 sign-up fee. I think that is fair considering it is cheaper than all our competitors and I believe we will match them in content.

Is it just going to be low stakes? If yes what is the highest that you will go.

Isura

Not only low stakes. For sure we'll have 2/4 videos, and most probably higher.

Your ideas so far are much better than any other site out there as long as the content delivers so I can't complain too much. How about monthly package deals that work out to the $15/month instead of a sign-up fee?

ex. 6 months for $90. It accomplishes what you want while not driving the price up so steeply for the first month.

That is a good idea. We'll consider it.
