What are your thoughts on my passive line in this hand? The
flop donk of an unknown generally raises a lot of question to me and esp. on this kind of flop - so I took this line.

I think you played it ok. Horrible board

This looks fine, allthough I'd consider a river reraise

On this draw happy flop, it seems fine IMHO, what range do I put UTG on where this flop DOESNT help him?

Him leading the flop for 3/4 makes me agree with your line.......

though I am curious as what other posters say here

what do u beat/what calls if you bet the flop or turn? That's your answer if pot control was smart.

Why.... I see the paired board, but we are still crushed by AK,QQ,JJ,TT,a spade flush ....... and all of these would play it this way,no? ...the only hand we raise and get called that we beat is AQ/KQ.. I dont know whether I would take the chance *shrugs*

I would have played it the same way.

[/ QUOTE ]AK/QQ/JJ/TT would probably keep betting turn.

Given the possible flush I'd actually call this river bet, but pairing the board definately improves our hand here.

I like this, but I don't do because I'm an impatient brat

Good that you agree with you - good in the sense that I finally seem to learn something about NL.
Btw. he had 87 - omg.

Fold river as played.

His value bet makes you wonder what are you actually beating here?!?!?

Repop on flop to see what's up.

I think a turn bet is good.

Horrible board I agree. Also, if you want pot control and are going for a showdown how about raising the flop to like 18? You may get a free river card even from some sets here since AK smashed the flop and TT is scared as well on this board. Villain also probably isn't going to push over your flop raise with anything you're ahead of so you can probably safely fold if your flop raise is met with resistance. Thoughts?

3/4 potbet on turn. usually taking it down or buying you're self a free river check (pending the board)..you've got position, use it..that's what NL is all about isn't it?!

If you bet the turn you make worse hands fold and better hands will still call. If you check the turn and call the river you will have invested the same amount but now you beat a lot more hands.

Using your position in a hand like this means doing exactly what OP has done.

I like your line, would have played it the same, althoug I might have reraised his donkbet on the flop.

I cant see anything that is ahead of you except maybe QJs checking this turn. All sets have to lead the turn because of the straight/flush draw out there. It just doesnt make sense not to lead the turn with a monster here. I think villain checked AQ on the turn for pot control/fearing a raise, and after you check behind he figures he's good and makes a value bet. I raise the river, knowing that I'm trapped some of the time but up against AQ enough of the time.
