SB is 35/4 over a small sample. I guess most players at this level are check-raising this flop with an 8. But do we make him prove it?

My thoughts:
- No overpair cuz he would have raised PF.
- 8 possible
- 10 possible
- If I raise his c/r he can only call with an 8, so I know where I stand.
- If I flat call I don't take this pot down very often.

I like the reraise, and many players will not c/r trips here even on a drawy board.

Thanks. Would you reraise less? or???

yah yah, I would fold flop with no reads. Readless there is no debate possible IMHO.

Preflop I raise this, but it depends who is in and my reads on them.

I like it because of the metagame at NL50, lots of players like to slowplay trips regardless. Whilst it's a pretty big raise, I like the principle of reraising here, as i don't expect to see an overpair, i would expect an 8 to repush vs my b/3b, and we are ahead of other Ts.

Folding here seems a little weak unless we can be convinced villain won't c/r a flush draw or a weaker T. I don't think this is an 8 much of the time, so I have to posit that folding the flop is a tad weak.

I might reraise less, but i won't fold to the c/r there.

peter harris, i do not like ur line at all!

1. sb has check raised 2 people for a pot sized bet (full tilt poker)
2. it is unlikely worse hands will call, so ur 3bet is basically useless
3. i hate folding to a push if i am already there
4. pot is small

I agree that given the small amount you've invested in the pot you have to be right an extremem amount of the time here. Had you seen this Villain flop squeeze before? It's a profitable play (and one that I've also never seen at 50NL without Villain actually having a hand)

Oops, i missed the caller in between - that does make the c/r stronger. I read the subject and assumed it was HU (sorry).

I think then that it's a tougher spot - but villain is not always sitting with an 8.

Thanks all. Given all the feed back, I don't see any way this hand could have developed that a SB c/r is anything I beat. If I raised PF and he called, I am behind his c/r. As played, I am behind his c/r.

So, I think we need to take away that raising a SB c/r with TPTK on a paired board is no good.

only when someone has called in between the c/r - then a c/r shows a lot more strength than just check, bet, c/r.

I fold flop, we are oop and it`s gonna get pretty expensive to see a showdown. If he is holding something like KT, good for him.
I often checkraise with trips like this and it becomes especialy profitable against people who always think they are being bluffed at.

A check-raise here is a good way to get money into the tiny pot, so I think you're going to see an 8 quite often. Fold, get away cheap.

Raise pre-flop.
