I knew nothing about the other guy.

Bad luck - well played - the odds of this happening are very small.

I assume you are going for a c/r on the flop?

Bad luck, well played.
He could very easily have had A/images/graemlins/diamond.gifK/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, any AK, etc.

Play is fine. I've lost set-over-set 3 times in the last 2 sessions, so it's just one of those unfortunate things that you have to get used to seeing from time to time. His range here is wide enough that this is a profitable call 100% of the time.

Yes it should. I have had less than 10 set under sets in 200K hands. Bet flop though - you aint getting payed off anyway if the other guy has nothing and you are just letting draws get there for free by checking.

LOL, you are running good. I've had 4 in the last 1k hands alone. I didn't check in between but in February I had 8 or so in 15k hands.

I still play it exactly the same, though (assuming that was a check-raise attempt on the flop).

Judging by the post title I am pretty sure it was a check-call attempt....
