SB is 20/17/2 over 600 hands

The reason i raised so big is i was hoping he had something decent and would play back at me. How should i have played this?

thanks.

Pretty standard imo. I mean, you could just call and raise flop, but I think this is pretty standard. Your thinking is correct...just a shame he didn't have something to tangle with. But winning 4BB's with AK u/i is still aight /images/graemlins/wink.gif

I don't know about you, but I don't really want a TAG 4 betting me preflop when I have AKo.

Well wouldn't my raise narrow what a TAG would 4 bet with? If he 4 bets can't we put him on AA or KK and move out of the way?

Not in a blind battle. People do weird things blind vs blind that they wouldn't normally do. They'll push TT-QQ often enough that a fold is sometimes a mistake.

I do agree people sometimes go completely crazy in BSB battles, but even if we include TT - QQ to villians pushing range it's still not a mistake to fold if we get reraised. TT - AA vs AK is -ev for AK.

If villian will 4-bet push with TT-AA and AKs, Hero is 3:2 underdog. That would leave Hero calling $18.50 into a $28.50 pot or getting 3:2 to call, so I cannot see how it is -EV if you put villian on this range. What about the second level though, what did you look like to villian? What might he think you would re-raise him with?

Well i assume with my stats 18/10/2.4 He would be putting me on a good hand especially in a blind, when my blind defense is relatively low.

If you want him to play back at you why are you making him so much of stack in to do it?

The outcome is not bad by any means. Like someone stated above winning 4BB with AKo is nice. The only thing I'd recommend is to always raise teh size of the pot so no one is able to narrow down your range too much.

I think you need a really wide reraising range in general if nobody can narrow your range...always raising the same amount when you do it isn't going to disguise your range I don't think.
