Why check the turn?
I call.

I think OP is asking whether to fold or not, but I think this is a call just about everytime. Unless (OP)you had seen him play his hands pretty straightforward recently, and just know he's got a straight or better, then I could see a fold here maybe 1 in 10 times. Maybe.

yea, he plays pretty st8 forward. I folded, but now I think it`s a mistake.

Well I think it's quite possible that your check on the turn for pot control may have lead opponnent to bluff at you on the river, and since you won't be broke after the hand even if you call, this would seem to make it more correct. Also, the way you played the hand may have mislead villain into believing you are weaker than you were, and he is taking a shot at you for this reason as well.

I call, you're killing his range that bets this river, after the way you played it.

Dastone, C4ll4way, this is exactly what I`m thinking now. It`s very likely that he was trying to take a stab at the pot, since it`s not very likely that I`m holding a 9 here. For me holding an overpair is much more likely and he knows the board is scary.

Thanks for all the replies.
