The villain in this hand was playing pretty TAGish but I got the feeling that he overvalued hands a little too much. Now I know that this overbet is always a big hand but do you think that you will see a naked 8 often enough to make this call a profitable one? Thanks for your insight.

Very passive. Raise or fold preflop. Raise like 80%.

I almost always raise in this spot and it definitely crossed my mind, but being out of position against an opponent that has been calling lightly preflop and we were both pretty deep, I thought keeping the pot small was the best play. Just my train of thought during the hand preflop.

Beeing deep and fold equity are two main reasons to raise OOP /images/graemlins/smile.gif
